Wonderful News!!!---Woodland is thrilled to announce that we are adding a lower elementary Montessori classroom grade 1,2, and 3.
Woodland Montessori would like to welcome all returning staff, students and new families and we off to a great start for September 2024. We have had an exciting start moving to our new location on Burton Avenue and look forward to our future adventures.
In September we have had new wonderful experiences and long nature walks. The children have explored nature and completed many beautiful lessons, learning about fall theme studies, scavenger hunts, leaf and tree studies, and plenty of lovely nature walks through the forest.
We also enjoyed the lovely September/ October weather with plenty of outdoor exercise, taking in as much sunshine as possible, while learning and having fun.
The children have worked on Thanksgiving gratitude crafts, pumpkin decorating contests, and a delicious Thanksgiving meal prepared with loving hands by our local chef. October brought Halloween parties, great costumes, spooky dance parties and delicious, fun and creative snacks.
In the months of November/ December the children have started preparing for the Woodland Montessori Annual Christmas Concert. We will be doing an annual Christmas concert a local venue close to our Burton location. All friends and family with be invited to share a festive evening, including songs, homemade baking and hot chocolate bar. Teachers and children are preparing, singing and working towards a wonderful concert. The children are very pleased with themselves and cannot wait to share their joy and accomplishments. Each of the classrooms will have Christmas parities, pajama day, dance parties, story time, red and green day and all the children will prepare beautiful Christmas crafts with love for all of the students to take home to their families.
This year Woodland Montessori School is also trying to teach the children about giving to families who are in need during this time of year. Also, they will be encouraged to discuss several virtues which will include: giving, kindness and love.
It has been an eventful and exciting school year thus far and Woodland looks forward to continued fun and great educational experiences in 2024/ 2025.

About Us
Woodland Montessori School is located in the south end of Barrie. We offer an enriched Montessori and Pre Casa program starting at 18 months and Montessoria Casa progams 2 1/2 - 6 years. If you are intrested in booking a tour please contact us.
We have opened a fourth Casa classroom and we are accepting registrations. All of the classrooms have an abundance of natural light and space. Our dedicated staff are certified and trained in the Montessori philosophy.
The outdoor playground is spectacular, located in a private, natural setting surrounded by forest. Our large gymnasium offers the opportunity for children to engage in many exciting and high energy activities.
